What are your vaccination requirements? We have a strict “no vaccine, no board” policy for the protection for all of our guests – young, old and vulnerable. All our canine friends are required to have completed the core (aka Parvo) vaccination course which is followed by triennial boosters as well as the Canine cough vaccination which is an annual vaccine. Our feline friends are required to compete the initial core vaccination course against feline calicivirus (FVC), feline rhinotracheitis virus (FVR), and feline panleucopenia virus (FPLV) and ongoing annual boosters which are also required. As with all vaccinations, there is never complete immunity to all these viruses however the risk of transmission and any symptoms are greater reduced. We recommend to talk to your vet if you have any questions or concerns regarding vaccinations.
-
Is there a standdown period before being allowed to stay?Yes we have a standdown period of 10 days after receiving their vaccinations (if previously expired) before coming to stay with us. This allows time for the vaccination to work through their system and offer the best protection for your fur baby.
-
Do you require proof of vaccination?Yes, we require all our feline and canine guests to be up to date with their vaccinations and do need to sight these records prior to boarding with us.
-
What is your cancellation policy, do you charge fees?We are generally pretty flexible and understand that things outside our control happen so all we ask is to be notified as soon as practically possible. At peak times such as Christmas or Easter, late cancellation may incur a cancellation fee in line with our terms and conditions however if we are able to rebook the space then we won’t apply these charges.
-
What food do you supply? We supply our guests the Royal Canin range of food which is included in our pricing fees however you are welcome to bring in your own food if your pet has any sensitivities or allergies. For daycare we don’t feed those just staying for the day however if you wish to leave us some food/snacks we are happy to offer these to your pet.
-
Can we bring along a toy or bedding?Yes you can bring in a blanket or toy from home. This can help settle them having something familiar especially for their first visit.
-
How far in advance should I book a stay?We recommend booking as soon as you know your plans to avoid disappointment. High peak times such as public holidays, school holidays, certain events can book out months in advance.
-
Can we come for a look around beforehand?Yes of course! We welcome viewings and these can be arranged by appointment by contacting one of the friendly team at the office.
-
My dog has special needs, can you still take care of him?We understand that the one size fits all model doesn’t always work so we are dedicated to work with each dogs individual needs. Just make sure to mention anything in particular and we will talk through the needs/care required together. We wish for all of our guests to have a comfortable and enjoyable time whilst staying with us.
-
Do you give medications?Yes we can give your pet any medications that may be required. Please make sure to bring labeled medications in the original packaging and make sure there is enough for the duration of your pets stay. There is an additional fee of $3 per day for most oral/topical medications. Please contact us prior if you have any injectables and we will work through with you on a case by case basis.
-
What happens if my pet requires vet care during their stay?We believe in the no surprises approach so if there are any concerns about your pets health or wellbeing whilst in our care, we will contact you and discuss any plan from there. If there is an emergency, we will still try to contact you but if time is of the essence and we are unable to contact you, your authority when agreeing to our terms and conditions allows us to take your pet to their normal vet clinic (where practically possible) and get the care required.
-
What if my vet is in a different town?We work closely with local vets and if your pet needs care, we will take them to our local vet.
-
Will you take my dog if she is on heat?Under normal circumstances we don’t allow dogs on heat to stay due to the disruptive nature it causes to our other guests and also for yours (and the other dogs) safety. If your dog does come on heat whilst staying with us we will call you and discuss options from there.
-
Can my dog still stay if he is not neutered?Yes we can accept unneutered and unspayed pets however we just need to be notified of this prior to their stay to allow for their bedroom placement and playtime schedules.
-
Can I drop off my dog outside of normal opening hours? We have many chores to do in between our opening hours and this can be disruptive to our work schedule so if you require an out of hours drop off/pick up service this needs to be arranged in advance and is dependent on staff availability. There is an additional fee of $25 for this service if prearranged and $50 if not arranged and you just turn up.
-
Do you offer day stays/doggy daycare?Yes we offer daycare for your dog (and cat). This is only offered Monday to Friday and your pet will get the same treatment as if they were staying overnight with us. We don’t feed those just staying for the day however if you wish to leave us some food/snacks we are happy to offer these to your pet. We also have block out periods where daycare is unavailable such as public and school holidays however this will be communicated directly with you.
-
Do you offer dog washing?Yes we do have dog washing services available and can have your precious pup clean and smelling sweet ready for your collection.
-
How secure are your facilities? We have a full health and safety plan to cover all risk areas, including a full smoke alarm system linked to our main residence along with a procedure for fire and evacuation. We have internal and external security cameras so have full visibility of the kennels and entrance area 24/7. Our fencing is all 8 foot high and we have some covered runs in case your dog loves to climb as some do.
-
How do I make a booking? You can contact the office through our website, phone, email or Facebook messenger and make a booking. Soon we will have an online portal link which allows you to log in to your profile or create your own profile and submit booking requests from there.
-
Is there a minimum or maximum stay?We only impose minimum stays of 2 nights over a public holiday weekend, 3 nights over Easter and 5 nights over Christmas and New Year period. Other than that, you can book for as short or long stay as you need.
